The challenge

A growing retail brand had outgrown its off-the-shelf storefront template. Every promotional campaign required a developer to hand-edit theme files, page load times climbed as the catalog grew, and the marketing team had no way to publish content without engineering involved.

The approach

We recommended a headless architecture: separating the storefront from the content and catalog management, so marketing could publish campaigns and product content independently while engineering focused on storefront performance and checkout reliability. This was a bigger upfront investment than a template swap, but it removed the recurring bottleneck rather than just patching it.

What we built

A Next.js storefront pulling content and product data from a headless CMS, with server-side rendering for fast page loads and strong SEO on product pages. The marketing team got a content dashboard to manage campaigns, banners, and product copy directly, with no deployment required for content changes.

The result

Page load times improved significantly on both product and category pages, directly improving conversion rate on mobile traffic. The marketing team went from needing a developer for every campaign to publishing changes themselves same-day, and the engineering team's ticket queue for "small content changes" dropped to near zero.
